Understanding Replica Weapons

Understanding Replica Weapons

Replica weapons are those which are created to look like a specific weapon, generally an antique. Replica weapons are sometimes functioning weapons, but they may be made simply to look like a weapon. Some homemade weapons are replicas, as they are fashioned by an individual that is not a professional, but they are made to look like another weapon.
Replica weapons often include every detail seen on the original. That means that replica weapons may be made from the same materials or made to look like they are made from the same materials. Each and every detail of the original weapon, is transferred to the replica.
Functioning replicas are also made to use the same ammunition as the original, although that type of ammunition may no longer be available. Non functioning replicas are not meant to be utilized, but are instead meant to be a model of the original weapon. Replica weapons can often be purchased at museums or other locations which sell or showcase weapons.
Homemade weapons may be made to look like an antique weapon. In fact, a common hobby is to fashion replicas of weapons from certain eras, such as the civil war. However, homemade weapons may also be made as functioning weapons. For instance, homemade weapons can include a bow and arrow, made completely by hand, which may be used for hunting or target practice.

What Are BB Guns

What Are BB Guns

BB guns are those guns which fire small metal pellets. BB guns are also sometimes called pellet guns, although a distinction can be made between the two.  BB guns are airguns which shoot  small metal balls and these guns are frequently used for hunting small animals, such as squirrels and are they also used in target practice.
A BB gun is usually made of steel but can be rather light. In fact, most  BB guns can easily be handled by individuals of any size and strength, as they are easy to shoot and have very low recoil.  However, there are rifle style BB guns and pellet guns, which may be more powerful and difficult to handle.
Both BB guns and pellet guns are often used simply for recreational purposes. Although a regular BB gun may be be used for hunting large game, a rifle style BB gun is often used to hunt small game. There are specific laws in each state as to which animals may be hunted with a BB gun or a pellet gun. There are also laws which govern the age of an individual that is allowed to operate a BB gun.
BB guns come in many styles and may fire different types of ammunition. For target practice, some individuals may select plastic BBs rather than the more expensive metal ones. In fact, the metal pellets can be quite dangerous for those that are not familiar with a BB gun and individuals should first use plastic BBs for target practice, before moving onto the metal BBs.

Explosives Explained

Explosives Explained

Explosives can include industrial chemicals and they can be homemade. In fact, explosives can be made from materials found in the average home. Explosives can be used to make bombs, which may have a detonator. Bomb squads are adept at removing or disabling the detonator before the bomb goes off.
There have been cases in which bombs were made from household items and those bombs were extremely destructive. The Explosives used in Oklahoma city for example, were made from common materials.
A destructive device, such as the one used in Oklahoma a city, can be made in an individuals home. However, there are also destructive devices which utilize materials that are only available to those that have a license to purchase those materials. For example, an explosive used by the military would likely include materials that require a permit.
An explosive is not always meant to be a destructive device .For example, fireworks, which are often used in celebrations, are a type of explosive. In fact, a firework could be considered a small bomb. There are many types of explosives that are not meant to injury people.
For example, explosives are used to destroy buildings during construction projects. In recent years, a large casino and hotel in Atlantic City was taken down with explosives in front of an audience of thousands of people.
Explosives can be controlled and used in a manner that is not destructive to people. However, explosives are also very dangerous and they are often used as weapons.

What Are Airsoft Weapons

What Are Airsoft Weapons

Airsoft weapons are replica weapons which are meant to look exactly like the real thing. For example, an airsoft gun may look exactly like a riffle. However, airsoft weapons use compressed air to fire pellets, and can not be used with real ammunition.
Airsoft weapons generally use compressed air to fire pellets, but they can also use pistons which are driven by a spring. An airsoft gun may require the user to pull a trigger, but they may also use compressed gas and an electric motor. In any case, the ammunition is eventually fired using compressed air.
Airsoft weapons are used in recreational activities. For example, individuals may take part in military type games and use the guns as the war plays out amongst two teams. Airsoft weapons are also used for training exercises for the military and police, since the companies have been able to manufacture the guns to simulate real weapons.
Airsoft weapons are used during military training exercises so that participants can get used to handling real weapons. The replicas are made to weigh the same as their realistic counterpart. In addition, the firing mechanisms on the airsoft weapons used specifically for training exercises, are also mean to be exactly the same as the real weapons. These weapons are highly sophisticated and allow training exercises to be as realistic as possible.

What You Don’t Know About Weapons

What You Don't Know About Weapons

Weapons can include any item that may inflict harm on another person. In fact, any item which could be used to gain victim compliance through fear, during the commission of a crime, could be considered a weapon. Traditional weapons include guns and knives, but weapons could also include blunt objects or heavy objects such as a tire iron.

Non lethal weapons vs. Lethal weapons

Non lethal weapons are those which are used for tactical purposes, such as the use of tear gas which  forces a suspect to exit a building. Lethal weapons are those which can kill an individual, such as firearms or knives.

Automatic weapons

Automatic weapons continuously fire bullets while the shooter holds down the trigger. The weapon automatically reloads as a result of the action of pulling the trigger.

Automatic weapons vs. semi-automatic weapons

Automatic weapons require the shooter to hold down the trigger once it has been pulled and semi automatic weapons require the shooter to pull the trigger for each bullet they wish to fire. However, in both cases, the weapon automatically loads itself, until there is no more ammunition.

Swat weapons

SWAT weapons tend to be the same type of weapons used in military operations. The weapons would likely be automatic or semi automatic, so that the SWAT team does not have to be concerned with reloading their weapons. SWAT weapons are used in dangerous situations, where the suspect may have hostages or powerful weapons.

Replica weapons vs. homemade weapons

Replica weapons are made to look like a specific weapon, usually and antique. Replicas may or may not function, as they are sometimes used simply as a model of the original weapon. Homemade weapons may include replica weapons, but they may also include weapons such as bow and arrows, which are used for hunting.

BB guns

BB guns are often made of steel and they are meant to fire small metal pellets or BBs. These guns may be used for hunting or target practice, but they are not effective with larger game.

Explosives

Explosives can be used as a weapon, but they can also be used in celebrations and construction projects. Explosives used  as a weapon, can include bombs made from household materials. However, explosives used by the military often include chemicals which are only available to those with a special permit.

Airsoft weapons are replicas, which use compressed air to fire plastic ammunition. These weapons are used for recreational purposes, such as war games. The weapons are also used during training exercises for the military and law enforcement agencies.

What Are Weapons Used For

What Are Weapons Used For

Weapons are considered any implement which can be used to defend oneself and/or inflict injury on another. In addition, the perception of a weapon, such as hand in ones pocket meant to look like a gun, can carry the same criminal charges as the presence of an actual weapon. Criminal charges for weapons vary in each justification, as do ownership rules and regulations. According to the National firearms act however, all firearms must be registered with the federal government.
There are lethal weapons and non lethal weapons. Traditional weapons include spears, guns and knives. However, every day objects can also be used as weapons, such as baseball bats and heavy or blunt objects.
Traditionally, weapons were used for hunting. There were a variety of handmade weapons which could be used on certain types of game, such as spears and bows and arrows. Weapons were also utilized for defense and as an offense, in order to steal property.
Weapons are now utilized for crime control, such as officers pointing a gun at a suspect to get them to drop their weapon before they inflict harm on any person. Weapons are often used to commit crimes and gain victim compliance by using a threat of a weapons, or by using the weapon.
There are federal and local laws which govern the type of weapon that individuals may own. No individual that has a felony conviction may own a firearm in the United States. In addition, each state sets out specific requirements for weapon ownership, including the type of weapons allowed.

Non Lethal Weapons Explained

Non Lethal Weapons Explained

Non lethal weapons are weapons which are not meant to kill the target. Whereas, lethal weapons are those which may or are intended to kill the target. A firearm is a lethal weapon, whereas tear gas may be considered a non lethal weapon. In most cases, the law considers some weapons non lethal, even when they can kill.
For instance, tear gas may not be meant to kill an individual, but it can happen. Perhaps the person has breathing  conditions which preexisted the use of the tear gas and then they died from  exposure to tear gas. In that case, a non lethal weapons became a lethal weapon. Taser guns are also considered non lethal weapons, as officers often use them to subdue subjects and yet people do sometimes die from the taser gun.
Another example of non lethal weapons are those which are sometimes used during war. In some cases, the weapons are used to instill fear and in others, they are used for tactical purposes. For example, Agent Orange was used during the Vietnam war in order to clear the fields so that the enemy could not hide. However, Agent Orange has an continues to kill people. Some veterans, as well as those that remain in Vietnam, are now faced with cancers that are known to be caused by the use of Agent Orange.
Lethal weapons are used to instill fear and gain compliance, whether or not they are actually used. The idea that the weapons could be used, is often enough to gain victim compliance or suspect compliance, because the fear of death is associated with those weapons.

Guide to Automatic Weapons

Guide to Automatic Weapons

Automatic weapons are often the most contentious items in any gun control debate. Because they hold tremendous destructive potential, and seem the least reasonable in terms of mere self-defense, automatic weapons are often targeted by gun control activists, and are just as passionately defended by gun rights activists.
There are some provisions concerning automatic weapons that greatly affect their legality in modern-day America. But first, a quick examination of exactly what an automatic weapon is will shed some light on the matter.
An automatic weapon, or automatic firearm, will fire continuously when the trigger is pulled, instead of firing just one shot per trigger pull. This differs from single-action revolvers, or pump-action firearms, for instance, which require a trigger pill to fire a single shot, and then an additional action in order to prime the gun for the next shot.
Automatic weapons differ also from semi-automatic weapons, which still retain the “one trigger pull, one shot” restriction on their workings, but have internal workings, such that the gun automatically loads a new cartridge and cocks itself.  Fully automatic weapons, then, are the most dangerous of these three kinds, because they can fire the most rounds in the least amount of time.
The terms are a little indeterminate, if only because many times, those guns which are called “automatic weapons” are actually semi-automatic, such as most “automatic pistols” and most “automatic shotguns.” This is often because fully automatic weapons are restricted, as one would expect, to just military and police forces in developed countries.
Most assault rifles, for instance, can switch back and froth between full automatic fire and semi-automatic fire, and most assault rifles are heavily restricted. Most assault rifles were banned altogether thanks to the Federal Assault Weapons Ban, but this law became defunct in 2004. There are attempts to reinstate it, however, whether for another temporary period, or permanently.
The Ban, though defunct, is important for the way it defined assault weapons, most of which were fully-automatic firearms which had been redesigned into becoming semi-automatic civilian versions. So while assault weapons were not actually fully automatic weapons, they were semi-automatic weapons, and were still more than dangerous enough to be banned, thought lawmakers.
In general, one can safely assume that any fully automatic weapon will be banned from civilian use. The more likely source of danger comes from powerful semi-automatic weapons, with features such as detachable magazines, folding or telescoping stocks, bayonet mounts, grenade launchers, and the like, all of which were enough to have the weapon banned under the Federal Assault Weapons Ban.
Fully automatic weapons, though some gun activists would like to have access to them, are generally considered too dangerous to be allowed for public use, but debate over the many variations of semi-automatic weapons will continue long into the future.
There is no doubt that a semi-automatic weapon is inherently more dangerous than a single-action weapon which requires both single trigger pulls per shot, and cocking or reloading the gun. But whether this danger is enough to justify limiting semi-automatic weapons severely remains an issue under great contention.

Semi-Automatic Weapons At A Glance

Semi-Automatic Weapons At A Glance

Automatic weapons are those which reload without any action from the shooter. The sequence of events, which begin with pulling the trigger, allow the gun to continuously reload. The gun also continues to fire when the shooter pulls the trigger just one time and holds the trigger until they want the gun to stop firing. Semi-automatic weapons are very similar to automatic weapons, except that they only fire one bullet with each trigger pull.
Automatic weapons are often used in wars. Soldiers can focus on aiming the automatic weapons, rather than reloading. Once the trigger is pulled, they simply move the gun as the target moves. However, automatic weapons can jam and if the shooter becomes injured and they release the trigger, the gun will stop firing. Technology on automatic weapons has become much more stable, lessening the chance that the gun will jam.
Semi-automatic weapons are also used in wars. The gun can also be prone to jamming. However, they are highly effective because the shooter simply needs to pull the trigger for each shot and does not have to be concerned with loading the weapon, as it does it automatically, in the same way that an automatic weapon does. The action of firing the weapon, allows the weapon to pull in more ammunition. The only difference between an automatic weapon and a semi automatic weapon in the need to continuously pull the trigger on a semi automatic weapon.

What Are SWAT Weapons

What Are SWAT Weapons

SWAT teams are a special division of law enforcement which utilizes special SWAT weapons in high risk situations. SWAT weapons and police weapons may be similar but they are used slightly differently. For example, SWAT weapons may be used during a hostage situation. SWAT weapons may include sniper rifles, and weapons which would likely be semi-automatic or automatic.
Police weapons generally include a handheld pistol and non lethal weapons such as taser guns. Most police weapons are not automatic or semi-automatic. However, SWAT weapons are utilized in more intense situations and may include semi-automatic weapons so that officers do not have to be concerned with reloading their weapon.
SWAT teams may be me likely to require weapons which can be fired fast and accurately. SWAT weapons include precision semi-automatic weapons which are used in situations where the suspect needs to be taken out quickly, in order to prevent injury to hostages or the officers.
SWAT tears also work in anti-terrorism situations, as well as hostage situations. Often times, the SWAT team is unaware of the specificity of the situation they are walking into. For instance, they may be unaware of the number of individuals in a building and the type of weapons which the suspects may have at hand. For that reason, SWAT weapons may be more powerful than police weapons.
SWAT weapons may include sub-machine guns and sniper riffles, both of which are powerful and considered advanced weaponry. In fact, SWAT weapons are often those weapons which are used by the military during operations.
